1. Accessibility Statement

Eagle Cable GmbH is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the BFSG (Federal Act on Barrier-Free Information and Communication Technology).

This accessibility statement applies to the following websites:

2. General Description and Key Features of the Services

Our website serves as an online shop for goods. Goods are physical items.

We present products in our online shop. You can add these to an electronic shopping cart and then place a paid order and make payment.

At the top of the website, you will find a navigation menu with categories that lead you to the various offers on our site.

Each product has a detail page with information about its features, scope of delivery, and price. Once a product is in the shopping cart, the ordering process can be started from there.

At the bottom of the page, you will find links to our legal notice, legal information, payment and delivery details, and other service offerings.

3. Description of the Service Execution

Various categories are visible on the homepage. By clicking on them, you are taken to the respective detail pages.

Using the navigation menu, you can select categories and view an overview of all related products.

The products presented in our online shop do not constitute a legally binding offer, but rather a non-binding online catalog.

You can select the products shown and add them to the shopping cart using the corresponding button, without obligation. To complete a purchase, you can log into an existing customer account or order as a guest. You submit a binding order—i.e., an offer to conclude a contract for the products in the shopping cart—by clicking the “place order with obligation to pay” button. You can identify input errors because your entries will be displayed again immediately before placing the order. Any identified errors can be corrected by returning to the respective input screen and adjusting your entries there. After placing an order, we will confirm receipt via email in an automatic acknowledgment of receipt.

4. Accessibility Status

This website is currently only partially compliant with the Accessibility Enhancement Act (BFSG) due to the following inconsistencies and exceptions. It partially meets the requirements of EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) in conjunction with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2. We are continuously working to improve accessibility.

5. Measures Already Implemented

  • Semantically structured HTML layout with headings (H1–H6)
  • No use of modal pop-ups without keyboard control
  • Labeled form elements and clear error messages
  • The page uses meaningful HTML structures such as <main>, <nav>, <footer>
  • Responsive design: The website layout automatically adapts to the screen of the device used (PC, notebook, tablet, or smartphone)
  • Videos with subtitles: The YouTube-embedded videos include automatically generated subtitles by YouTube
  • Breadcrumbs indicate the page position and are marked up correctly
  • Prices are displayed as text and not only as part of an image

6. Non-Accessible Content and Planned Measures

PDF Documents

Some PDF documents, such as brochures and user manuals, have not yet been created in an accessible format according to the PDF/UA standard. These documents are currently difficult to read for assistive technologies. However, such documents were created before June 28, 2025, and are therefore not subject to the BFSG pursuant to § 1 para. 4 no. 2.

Measures: Future PDF documents will be created in an accessible format.

Embedded Videos

All product and explanatory videos not embedded via YouTube currently lack subtitles and audio descriptions. This limits usability for people with hearing and visual impairments. These are recorded time-based media published before June 28, 2025, and are therefore not subject to the BFSG pursuant to § 1 para. 4 no. 1.

Measures: Future videos will be made accessible.

Keyboard Navigation

Currently, the search function, mega menu sub-items, variant selection on product pages, and tab selection on product pages are not operable via keyboard.

Measures: These issues will be resolved through software updates and adjustments by December 2025.

Color Contrast

Some interactive elements (e.g., buttons, links, navigation) have insufficient color contrast, which impairs readability, especially for people with visual impairments.

Measures: All affected elements will be adjusted to meet WCAG 2.1 contrast requirements by December 2025.

ARIA Attributes

Certain interactive areas (e.g., shopping cart, forms, product filters) currently lack sufficient ARIA attributes. As a result, usability with screen readers is limited.

Measures: Proper ARIA attributes will be implemented step by step by December 2025.

Images with Alternative Text

Most images are still missing alternative text.

Measures: Alt tags will be implemented gradually by December 2025.
