Accessibility Statement

eagle cable GmbH is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102. The legal basis for this is the German Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (BGG) and the Ordinance on Accessible Information Technology (BITV 2.0).

This accessibility statement applies to the following websites:

Accessibility Status

This website is currently only partially accessible. Some content does not yet fully meet the requirements of BITV 2.0. We are continuously working to improve accessibility.

Implemented Measures

  • Semantically structured HTML with headings (H1–H6)
  • Avoidance of modal pop-ups without keyboard control
  • Alternative text ("alt" attributes) for most images
  • Labeled form elements and clear error messages
  • Use of meaningful HTML structures such as <main>, <nav>, <footer>
  • Responsive design: The website layout automatically adapts to the screen of the device used (PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone)
  • Videos with subtitles: Embedded YouTube videos include automatically generated subtitles
  • Breadcrumbs indicate the page location and are correctly marked up
  • Prices are displayed as text and are not only part of an image

Non-Accessible Content and Planned Measures

PDF Documents

Some PDF documents, such as product brochures and user manuals, have not yet been created in accordance with the PDF/UA standard. These documents are currently difficult to access using assistive technologies.

Measures: Future PDF documents will be created to be accessible.

Embedded Videos

All product and instructional videos not embedded via YouTube currently lack subtitles and audio descriptions. This limits usability for people with hearing and visual impairments.

Measures: These videos will be progressively updated within the next 6 months.

Keyboard Navigation

Currently, the search function, mega menu sub-items, variant selection on product pages, and tab navigation on product pages are not operable via keyboard.

Measures: These issues will be resolved through software updates and adjustments by December 2025.

Color Contrast

Some interactive elements (e.g., buttons, links, navigation) have insufficient color contrast, which reduces readability, especially for people with visual impairments.

Measures: All affected elements will be adjusted to meet WCAG 2.1 contrast requirements by December 2025.

ARIA Attributes

Certain interactive areas (e.g., shopping cart, forms, product filters) currently lack sufficient ARIA attributes, limiting usability with screen readers.

Measures: Correct ARIA attributes will be implemented step by step by December 2025.
